I
qualified from Glasgow University coming first in
my year for orthodontics which I have a keen interest
in, along with cosmetic dentistry. I have worked in
Lanark (Scotland) and the north west of England before
joining GDP Cosmetics back in June 2007. I regularly
attend courses to stay providing the very best and
latest treatments, using the best materials. 2009
will bring the addition of implant dentistry to provide
every aspect of dentistry to our patients here. For
the past year along side cosmetic dentistry I have
been delivering facial aesthetics treatments (using
Botox and fillers) with fantastic results and a lot
of very happy patients. Just ask for information about
any of the treatments, Don’t be shy, It’s
really straight forward and not scary at all!
Dionne Stone – Practice Manager
I
joined the practice back in May 2006 where I was a
trainee dental nurse and receptionist. I enjoyed my
role at GDP and working with all the team. I then
decided to take a career change in June 2007 where
I went and worked at our local hospital I was getting
on well there and enjoyed my job. When I was asked
to return to GDP back in July 2008 I jumped at the
chance as the saying goes there is no place like home.
I have never worked any where else other than here
where the atmosphere is great and the team are excellent
everyone is very friendly and works together. I came
back to cover management of Reception while Alison
was on maternity leave as Assistant Manager which
I am really enjoying as a challenging job role.
Kathy Robertson – Dental Nurse
/ Receptionist
I
obtained my certificate for Dental Nursing (NEBDN)
at Kings College Dental School in May 1998. I took
a short break to have my two children and worked for
a while with the elderly where I gained my NVQ 2&3
in Health and Social Care and numerous other qualifications.
I returned to dental nursing and joined the very friendly
team at GDP 2 years ago. I have worked in both NHS
and Private practices. I am on the dental care professional
register and am a member of the British Association
for Dental Nurses. I regularly attend courses to keep
updated with current regulations.
Laura O’Donnell – Dental
Nurse / Receptionist
Before
joining GDP I studied Health & Social care at
East Surrey College where I gained a Pass grade. I
found Dental Nursing very interesting so I decided
I would find a role in this and that’s where
I came across GDP. My first impressions of GDP where
that they were a modern practice and the team seemed
very friendly so I felt I would be happy here. That’s
when I joined the practice a year and a half ago,
I recently took my exam in November for my certificate
in Dental Nursing which I studied at Carshalton College
part-time as well as working here at GDP, I received
my results in January and passed.
Kym James – Hygienist
Before
qualifying as a Dental surgery assistant at University
College Hospital, London I knew that I wanted to become
a Dental Hygienist. I was fortunate to be awarded
a place at RAF Halton where I qualified in December
1980.I have worked in London and Surrey both in NHS
and private practices including Harley Street.
I have taken two career breaks to have my children.
I attend courses and training to keep me up to date
with the developments within dentistry.
I was lucky enough to join GDP, three years ago,
soon after the practice opened, and have enjoyed being
part of this friendly team since then.
